In the continuing retro wave, the Breitling Aviator 8 Replica series reinterprets Breitling’s early pilot watches, rather than simply copying them.
The dark black and contrasting colors on the dial and rotating bezel are like a pilot’s watch. Although the B01 internal movement does not provide an 8-day power reserve, it can indeed be extended by nearly three days, which is currently the most advanced.
Its basic version powers the Best Breitling Chronograph Mosquito Replica, but a closer look will reveal some subtle differences. For example, the eccentric screw used for fine adjustment is in different places, and there are some finishing defects on the lever of the stopwatch function. Unfortunately, it can be seen through the sapphire back cover.
The bright yellow at the bottom of the leather strap accentuates the retro look. The B01 movement is visible under the sapphire caseback.
It uses the same 43mm stainless steel case as Best Breitling Replica, and the lugs are now shorter, more curved and polished edges, giving the watch a strong and sporty appearance, especially when viewed from the side. From the 1930s to the 1960s, Breitling often used these same facets to complete its watches.
Also inspired by history is the “mushroom” chronograph button, which, like the grooved crown, is another Navitimer function. The column wheel control provides a firm but very smooth pressure point for the chronograph button.
